Answer . the relay should be under the hood on the top of the firewall or next to the main fuse box on the wheel well.
It is HIGHLY (especially in California - $10,000 fine if I recall correctly) illegal to release the old R-12 ("Freon") into the air, so you should take your vehicle to a licensed auto air conditioning shop for this changeover. They will pump the old "Freon" out, replace the dryer and put the correct… amount of new R-134a and oil into your system. If the system has not been operating perfectly, or the compressor has a lot of miles on it (if so, you should have a new compressor installed), any service it needs, such as having leaky hoses replaced, done at this time. Answer Where I live, we can go to the local K-Mart (or most any store) and buy akit that has everything you need with instructions for about $25.00 or so.If you've never done anything like adding R-12 then you should let someonethat has help you. It's not hard, it is just easyer if you know someonethat has done it before. If it were very hard, . . . K-Mart, etc. wouldn'tbe selling kits like that to the general public. As for pumping out the R-12, most people only convert over to R-134a because their A/C don't workanymore because the Freon has leaked out and R-12 cost so much now-a-days. I've bought many a cans for 65 cents a can and now it cost around $40.00 a can, plus laws have been passed so you need a license just to buy it. R-134a cost about $4.00 a can and anyone can buy it. At Auto Supply Stores, you can also buy FREEZE 12 AUTOMOTIVE REFRIGERANT NON-FLAMMABLE/NO CFC's,that replaces R-12 for about $6.00 a can. I've seen this sort of Freon on the web and anyone can order it (do a search). I've used all of this stuffand never had any problems. I did have someone show me how it's done, "first". (MORE)
How do you troubleshoot a constantly blowing fuse for the AC Heater circuit on a 1991 Chevy Cavalier?
First umplug the heater motor. If is doesn't blow, replace the motor . If it does, you have a short in the wiring. You probably have a bad motor, and, you need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
Answer . In the fuse block, under the dash on the drivers side, Should be marked HTR/AC
Answer . \nin the expanded line coming from the evaporator in the core support. You nee to pull the grille to gain access. Good luck breaking the fitting loose! Jeff
It is drawing too much current. If you aren't certified for AC repair, roll the windows down and drive to your favorite shop.
What is wrong if a 93 Chevy Suburban 1500 front electronic heater ac has died and has no lights and no control and changing the fuses has not fixed the problem?
Power . Check with meter or test light if you have power to fuse block.
First you pull off the belt. Then pull off the plug. Then undo the bracket on the back of the compressor that connects to the manifold. Then pull off your freon lines. Watch for the freon to spray out. Undo the top bolts on the compressor first, and then undo the bottom bolts. Sometimes the bottom b…olts, have a notch cut out of the washer head, and that's the only way you can pull them out. So look for the notch. Then you should turn the compressor to the right, and pull it up, because it has a lip welded in that doesn't let the compressor pull straight up. Then you repeat the steps in reverse order. You will have to recharge the system after you get it hooked up. (MORE)
Passenger side kick panel. There is a small 10amp and a 40amp both are for the AC.
Answer . Compressor is more than likely locked up or you have a short in the wiring.
Should be located in the under hood fuse box. The 15 amp blue fuse is marked "radio".
The fuse is located on the passenger-side firewall, under a plastic shroud. Remove the two-three plastic nuts that hold the plastic shroud in place, and remove the shroud. There will be a number of wires bolted to the firewall. Furthest to the passenger side would be a ~ 1" square plastic case with …a clip that holds in the wire and AT fuse. (MORE)
Answer . Bad fan motor? Check to see if you are getting power to it. Bad Switch?. Bad fan relay?
Answer . \nI guess you are asking about the outside disconnect. That is for a serviceman to shut it down from outside so he can service it. Look at it the plug and look at the socket. The copper plug bars must go to the box socket which has the copper terminals in the slots.
The 1994 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck horn fuse can be found in thefuse box. The horn fuse will be in the second column, fifth fromthe bottom.
Is is blowing hot air on the drivers side, or nothing at all? If it is blowing hot air even though you have the thermostat set on cold - it could be the heat actuator. It will occasionally do this after about 75000 miles or so. Mine started at 114000 miles and if you turn it off and turn it back on …- it will start blowing cold again...$400 repair. Hope this helps. Answer . Wiring problem. You also may have a car that shares fuses with other parts, that blow the fuse when you turn the part on. IE: Dodge vans have a problem that when you turn on the rear wiper you blow the fuse that also is connected to the air bag warning light. The air bag light goes off …when a new fuse is installed. Check the web for blogs on your type of vehicle and then search for that area of concern. (MORE)
The fuse for your ac is under the hood of the car. look for a black panel on right side and on top will so a diagram. Remove cover and use diagram to find what fuse under cover is ac fuse.
You either have a dead short to ground somewhere or the circuit isoverloaded. It will take some detective work to locate the problem.
I dont know about this > What fuse is for the ac in a 20004 expedition?. But for the 2004 Ford Expedition.... Check your owners manual.. If you don't have one copy & paste this link.. http://www.genuineservice.com/genuineservice/en/gloveboxresults
I believe a 2005 Cavalier's fuse box is were mine is on my 2002 Cavalier. Its on the driverside. Open the driverside door. Looking in throught the driver door on the lower left you'll see a part of your dash on the lower left with "fuse box" on it. Pop open the dash panel and replace whatever fuse y…ou need. -Chris (MORE)
This may or may not be the problem, but if your condensor fan has frozen up, it will blow the fuse every time. Both the Fan and the Condensor unit run off of the same fuse... I had the same problem, and i just unhooked the wiring harness where if plugs into the condensor fan for a little while so th…at the AC still worked while I found a replacement... (MORE)

94 Chevy 1500 ac clutch engages sometime and some times it doesn't but if you hit the compressor it will enguage all wiring is good?
I'm having the same problem with m 1996 Chevy Silverado 2500 and I believe it is a wiring problem. I have replaced all other parts expect for the wiring so that is next. I will keep you posted...
The 2006 Nissan Maxima air conditioning fuse can be found in thefuse box. The air conditioner fuse will be in the first column, third from the top.
Around the middle of the fuse box ,go to bottom right of the fuse and go up to about half way up then go about 3 fuses over , It's behind this little black clip with a brown wire coming out of it , you do not half to pull it out, just push it slightly to the left !
Under hood on passenger side over fender well..it is a small black box next to a larger fuse box
it is fuse number 42 i believe in the fusebox under the hood...size 10a fuse
Under the hood, on the passenger side, just next to the firewall is a silver can-looking thing that has AC lines running in and out. The can, called a 'receiver/dryer' may, or may not, be wrapped in black foam. The AC line coming out of the receiver/dryer has the low pressure side port, that's whe…re you add refrigerant and/or oil. Don't add oil unless you KNOW that it's low. Too much refrigerant oil can destroy the AC system. (MORE)
Most likely a short somewhere in the wiring, and possibly in the pump itself. $$$$$
2002 4.7 dodge ram 1500 no power to ac fan relays seem ok along with fuses in box what else could it be?
I have an 04 same engine etc having the same identical problem. Have you found a resolve yet?
You can go to Autozone.com. They have online manuals you can view for free, you just have to enter the make and model of the vehicle you are inquiring about
The fuse pannel is probaly located on the steering wheel on the left side that's were mine is on my 1994 Chevy.
For a diagram consult: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1999-ford-taurus--ac-suddenly-not-working!-vt155404.html What year Taurus? . The linked answer specifically cites the temperature blend door actuator motor. See "Related Questions" below for more about it...
A bad diode can cause the 10a fuse to blow. (it looks like a fuse that is located above and left of the AC fuse)
is the a/c on when this happens if so it could be the fast idle sensor
First thing check to see if you have any freon in the system and if so start checking the electrical for the blowers.....
Does a 4x4 1994 1500 Chevy silverado still lock in four wheel drive with out a fuse in the 4x4 slot of a fuse box?
If it has electric switch to shift into 4-wheel drive, your coil brake is stuck in the 4- wheel drive position. Take the shift unit off the transfer case and disassemble it. It is a small cylinder unit with gears and a servo in it. It should have 2 wires going to it. If you want to fix it, take …it apart and check the coil brake located on at the end of the assembly. The two very small wires coming out of the coil may have corroded. This brake unit keeps the unit locked in position. If you do some very careful soldering and attach two small copper wires, same size as the old metal ones, to the small wires from the coil and use those to plug into the existing plug. Your Four wheel drive shifter should work again. I did this to my 2000 Sera instead of buying the $650 shift unit. Works great! If you can't fix it you must switch the unit to two wheel drive and put it back. You must also reach in the transfer case and switch it into four wheel drive. (MORE)
Yes, all electric components have a fuse. It should in the main fuse block or maybe under the hood follow the wires going to it is you can.
Look just to the left of the steering column on the lower side of your dash. There is a little cover (with a slot for your fingers) Pull that off and expose the fuses. It is just to the right of your emergency brake release. Betty Buchanan
There are two locations you can look. One is on the fender near the battery in the power distribution center panel, the other is the fuse panel on the side of the dash on the driver side, you must have the door open to access this panel.
As you open the drivers door there is a panel marked fuses. It is labeled in there.
Fuses are rated as to their voltage and amps and of course the physical size of the fuse is important. Never use a fuse for an application that it isn't rated for.
There are two fuse boxes in an 02 Silverado. For the interior systems, the box is facing the driver door to the left of the instrument panel. The exterior fuse panel is behind the battery.
the high pressure switch is located on the back ,top of the compresssure and has a clip with two wires to it.to replace it you will have to drain the system.to install the switch you will need a snap ring tool .evacuate the system and recharge.the switch is around $21.00 AT AUTO ZONE.FIRST TO SEE IF… IT IS BAD ,USE A PAPER CLIP OR WIRE TO JUMP THE LEAD SO U WANT WASTE MONEY..GOOD LUCK.. The relay switch is in the fuse box on the left front fender under the hood. It's about a 12 in x 12 in black box.
It does not have a cabin filter even though you may see it listed in a parts catalog. It was dropped due to a redesign of the HVAC in 2004 which allowed no room for the filter.
What needs to be changed besides checking the fuse in Chevy Silverado in order to get the ac compressor clutch to come on?
There is a pressure switch that runs the clutch. If there is not enough freon in the system the switch will never allow the clutch to turn on.
it is a micro relay and it is in under hood in the fuse and relay box. number 16, this is for the A/C pump. good-day !
The AC isn't working in my Chevy Express 3500 passenger van. the compressor isn't coming on at all. could it be a fuse blown an not the compressor?
If the compressor is not coming on at all it could be that you are low of refrigerant and just need to add some more.
