Answer . http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?TID=43698&TPN=2\n. \nthe following information came from the above mentioned link:\n. \nI seem to remember when I blew my lighter fuse, it was the only electrical thing that didn't work. I seem to remember the fuse located on the left… side where the passenger sits. If you are looking at the radio, down and to the right a panel should pop off. Check all the fuses there, even if you don't know which is which. The inside of the panel should give a chart, too. \n. (MORE)
There are 2 fuses on that stereo system, Fuse 37 or 42 in the driver's side of the dash or the back of the radio. You need special tools to remove the radio. If the radio just quit working, simply remove the fuse on the side of the dash and re-install the fuse, the radio should start working again. … Update: I just tried this (removing each fuse individually, one at at time) and it didn't work. HOWEVER! I just pulled BOTH 37 AND 42 at the same time and put them back in and it fixed it. (Thats right... Genius.) I just had this happen on our 2002 VW Golf TDI and removing these two fuses (I did both together) worked for me as well. Also works on the 2003 Golf GL - Great Tip! (MORE)
8 --------- I own a 2006 Dodge Stratus, and I also had a problem with my cigarette lighter socket. I located the exact fuse by accident the other day. -The owner's manual DOES NOT specify a fuse for the cigarette lighter. -The internal fuse box cover DOES NOT specify a fuse for the cigarette… lighter. (This fuse box is located below and to the left of the steering wheel. Access by opening the driver door, then pull the cover off to reveal the fuse box. The fuse diagram is under the cover.) -The fuse for the cigarette lighter is located in ANOTHER FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD next to the positive (red) jumper cable terminal. Remove the cover by pinching the tabs inward. The cigarette lighter fuse is a 20 amp fuse on the bottom row. (MORE)
Answer . \nI would invest in a manual...and check to see if there are any pieces of metal(foil) in the lighter sockets..this can cause them to blow..\n. \ndave
20 Amps. Should be located in Fuse Position #1 on the fuse block underneath the dash...
It is fuse number 70, a 15 amp (blue) fuse found in the fuse box under the hood on the driver's side.
Hi , Not sure how long this question has been posted for But I have success!!!! For the cigarette lighter fuse on UK models ford focus there is another 'hidden' fuse box behind the glove box. Just unscrew three screws at the hinge of the glove box and bobs your uncle. Replace fuse 35 which is a …15amp fuse. Hope this helps . And just one question for fun >> Why would you put the fuses there out of sight ?????? Simon the saviour .lol Mine got short-circuited when a phone charger broke inside it. April 1 2009 - not an April Fool, on my 2002 diesel Focus, I open the glove box door, then pull it out further (squeezing the sides), then can access fuses, on my version it's fuse 47, not 35. It was 20 amp (but I can't find the handbook so I don't know if it's supposed to be 20A). I live in Ireland, so it's probably a UK model, I don't know why it's different to Simon's. Richard I just replaced this for a 2005 Ford Focus and sure enough it was behind the little storage compartment on the left hand side of the steering wheel. We store CD cases in it. I pinched the two side walls together and the door opened wide and exposed the fuse panel. For this model it was Fuse #47 and it was for 20 amps. Replaced it and now things are working again. Thanks for the above info, we also do not have the manual, so this made it a snap to fix. _Steve (MORE)
On the 2004 passat its a 15amp fuse, location 33 Cutaboy Here... On the 06 passat ... go to the passenger frontside (shotgun) use a screw driver to pull out the panel ... look for location 35 ... the fuse is (20) ... got this from the manual after reading everyones answers ... had to figure it… out myself ... tested it ... worked perfectly ... I have an 2006 Passat and in my case there was no fuse on slot 35. I had to check every single fuse to determine which one was broken. After some time and lots of patience I found a 15 amp fuse that was broken... replaced it with a a 20 amp fuse and its all good. Now I can charge my phone. In my 2006 Passat 2.0T, the cigarette lighter fuse is in #43. That is the last but one row of the LEFT side instrument fuse box (fuse box A). I got the 11/2005 edition of Technical and Modifications manual. It says the cigarette lighter fuse is #35 in the right side instrument fuse box. This is an error. (MORE)
If it's not in the fuse box, then could be under the driver side left dash area.

Answer: . A 2001 VW Beetle takes an ATO15 (blue colored, 15amp, blade style) fuse for the cigarette lighter.
This fuse is located in the dash fuse box. Upper fuse box, top row, 3rd from the left, a blue 15 amp fuse. On the recent models of the VW Transporter TDI Diesel for example, the Fuse is 3 from the right hand end. Same row, same box, same colour/rating.

I found the fuse in my Pontiac Aztec 2002. It was fuse number 36 in the fuse bank under the hood above the batter. Its a 20amp fuse. Should say something like "Front/aux" or something on the mapping under the cap. Remember its bank #36.
\n . \nthe fuse box for this is located in the boot next to the battery under the lift out panel fuse #5 slot i think . Mar 2013 -- Yes, that's exactly where it was (cigar lighter fuse) on my friend's Jaguar XJ here in Germany...slot 5 in the trunk, under the panel. NOT in the glove compartment or… under the dash -- those were dead ends on my model, which i believe is a 2003. You have to squint real hard, but the trunk slots ARE numbered -- the numbers are quite small and just molded into the casing. Bottom row, 5th from the right. I put in a 25 amp fuse (which was what was already there) so it won't blow so easily. Now I can use my GPS system here in beautiful Germany!!! WOW! What a relief. As on most cars, the cigarette lighter has no power unless the ignition is switched on. . (MORE)

Not sure about a 2002, but on a 2006 there is a fuse box up under the dashboard near the drivers left knee. Not easy to access. I used a mirror to find the fuse of interest. The cover of the fuse box has some text to describe the fuses. Mine used a 15A fuse for the lighter socket.
