\n1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2,\n Answer \n. \n. \nThe firing order is usually stamped on the intake manifold. To get the right order on the distributor cap, remove the distributor cap. Remove the #1 spark plug. Place your finger in the spark plug hole. Manually turn the motor clockwise. Compressed air will "blow by" your finger when the #1 cylinder is reaching the top of the compression stroke. Verify "top dead center" on the timing mark/harmonic balancer. Look at the distributor. The rotor will be pointing to where the #1 spark plug wire will go. Place the cap back on the distributor, put the #1 wire where the rotor pointed, follow the firing order stamped on the intake CLOCKWISE around the distributor cap.\n. \n. \nOk, I had the same problem this weekend. Somehow I mixed up the wires, even thought I pulled one at a time. I have a 94 GMC suburban. From the front of the truck, #1 is at 5 oclock on the distrubutor, the first pole clockwise from the mounting screw that points towards the front right headlight. There are two mounting screws for the dist cap. One towards the cab firewall and one closest to the coil. That screw, one pole clockwise, is number one cylinder on the rotation. Rotor turns clockwise. I hope this helps someone more than trying to stick your finger over the plug hole and be Stretch ArmStrong by turning the ignition at the same time.
Answer . \n1-6-5-4-3-2-1\nstart w/ post next to drivers side of intake manifold. Answer . \nThe firing order is 165432. Number one is driver side front to rear 135 and driver side is 246. Rotor in dist. cap rotates clockwise.
Answer . the same as an old points distributer right front #1_8_4_3_6_5_7_2\nthe center wire is just like a coil (and is) a coil
You really should get a repair manual for your car. The firing order for 1988 and later 4.3 liter V6 engines is 1-6-5-4-3-2, number one is driver's side front on the distributor and rotation is clockwise. Number one cylinder on the engine is driver's side front, number two is passenger side front and the rest follow the same pattern.
Answer . Firing Order for 2.8 Liter V-6 Chevrolet, Cylinders are numbered, \nPassenger Side Front is Number 1, then 3, and 5\nDrivers Side Front is Number 2, then 4, then 6\nThe Distributor rotates Clockwise, with the Firing Order of 1-2-3-4-5-6
Answer . \n1 -6 -5- 4-3-2 clockwise The distributor plug wire hole number one is facing the front center of the engine. Stand on the front bumper and #6 is on the next distributor hole on your left side. (passenger side)\n. \nSpark plugs \n. \nThe number one plug wire is on the front -drivers side followed by 3 and 5 is at the rear toward the firewall.\n. \nThe number 2 plug wire is on the front - passenger side followed by 4 and 6 at the rear toward the firewall.
Answer . The Older GTO`s Were Counterclockwise. I`m Almost Sure Yours Would Too. To Be Sure Take Off The Dist. Cap & Just Bump It Over & You Can Tell. Good Luck. All of the real Pontiac, Buick & Olds V8 engines used a counterclockwise rotating distributor except for the 307 which rotated clockwise.
\ncorrect firing order on a 350 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2-,the number 1 plug is the first cyl on the drivers side.in order from front to back left to right is 1-3-5-7-2-4-6-8
Oldsmobile distributors rotate counter clockwise.. Source: Certified Olds nut, olds cutlass owner, former ase master certified tech
what is the firing order on the distributer cap on a 1994 gmc 5.7 liter
Answer . 2.5 L firing order is 1-3-4-2. 4.3 L firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. On both engines the distributror rotates cclockwise.
Do you have a diagram of the firing order from distributor cap to spark plug on a 1991 Chevy blazer S-10 4.3 liter engine?
Answer . Yes I have a diagragm of the firing order for a 91 s10 blazer and you should get one too, mine is in my Haynes Repair manual # 24070. Since you don't have one I will attempt to describe how you can draw one.. 1. draw a circle using a quarter as a guide to represent your disrtibutor, draw six small circles in that circle or outside that circle to represent the spark plug wires, you should have two at the bottom of the circle, one to each side and two at the top of the circle. fill in the lower right circle to represent number one spark plug wire. draw an arrow over the top of the distributor aiming right indicating a clockwise rotation of the distributor.. 2. Below the distributor circle draw a rectangle to represent the engine, draw 6 circles, three on each side to represent the cylinders, number them starting at the lower right with number one, then the lower left as number two. you should end up with the numbers 1, 3, and 5 on the right side of the rectangle from front to back and 2, 4, and 6 on the left side.. 3. mark the firing order below the engine block you have drawn, it is 1-6-5-4-3-2 for 1988 and later 4.3 V6 engines.. 4. Now all you have to do is start with number one on the distributor and put a spark plug wire in that hole then put the other end on the number one cylinder's spark plug. The next hole in the distributor in the clockwise direction is for the number 6 cylinder following the firing order, then 5, 4, 3, and 2.
\n. \n Answer \n. \n536124\n. \nThat answer is incorrect.the correct firing order for the Chevy 235 is Firing order: 1-5-3-6-2-4.

When working on a car, and troubleshooting problems, knowing thefiring order can come in handy. The firing order of the distributorcap of a Chevy 350 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
The engine firing order for a 1984 Chevy caprice with a 5.0 literengine is 1, 3, 4, 2. The number one engine is the one closest tothe passenger compartment.
If the firing order is 18436572 then on the distributor cap does it mean the 8 plug wire goes next to the 1 and so on clockwise?
Take off the distributor cap, turn the engine crankshaft pulley clockwise and see which way the rotor turns. Then remove the plug from cylinder 1 and replace by a couple of turns. Turn the engine pulley to line up the timing marks and if air hisses from cylinder 1 the distributor rotor is pointing to where cylinder 1 wire goes (If no hiss, rotate crankshaft pulley a full turn and hiss should be heard). Then it is as you say but in the direction the rotor turned
If it is a 305 (5.0) or the 350 (5.7) the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 . Dist. turns clock wise. even numbers are on the passenger side of the engine odd numbers on the drivers side , hope this helps
The distributor rotates in the clockwise direction. The number 1 cylinder wire goes on the first wire tower above the flat spot as the rotor turns. By the flat spot I mean the area where the ignition module goes through the distributor cap. Hope that is helpful. An illustration would be much easier than a written explanation, but I can't post an illustration here. .
You can find some images of this online. Other searchers may haveput it up so that you can use it.
The distributor cap order for a Chevy 283 varies depending on theyear of the motor. A 1975 to 1991 has the number one cylinder atthe top just to the left of center. For a 3.0 liter distributor cap firing order what is the correct plug placement for plug wires on distributor?
facing the car from the front... the back of the engine is plugs 1,3,5 from left to right. So the plug closest to the alternator is 1. The plugs closest to the front of the car are 2,4,6 left to right. So the closest to the transmission is 6. The cap has 1,3,5 closest to rear of car and 2,4,6 closest to front of car. The computer automatically adjusts timing so placement of cap doesn't have to be exact.
1-3-4-2.......2.3 L engine. Check where the rotor points when the engine is at compression stroke on the number 1, take out spark plug on first cly. and turn by hand. You will find it. when piston is at the top, look where the rotor points. Goog luck.
For a 4.9 liter distributor cap firing order what is the correct placement for plug wires on distributor you know the firing order of the cylinders?

The V8 engines ( 289 / 302 / 390 / 427 and 428 ). have a spark plug firing order ( 1 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8 ). The distributor rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE. Start at the marked # 1 position which faces to the rear and slightly towards the drivers side and go COUNTERCLOCKWISE. The engine cylinders / spark plugs are numbered :. firewall. 4 - 8. 3 - 7. 2 - 6. 1 - 5. front
Standing in front with the hood open, looking at the distributor, number one would be at the 5:30 position on the cap, from there clockwise it goes 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. I am assuming this is a 4.3L engine.
1 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8 ( if it isn't a high output - like in the Mustang ) . The distributor rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE . The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the REAR and slightly towards the drivers side
What is the firing order of spark plug wires to the distributor cap for 1992 Ford Festiva 1.3 liter engine?
1 - 3 - 4 - 2 is the firing order The distributor rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE The # 1 position on the distributor cap faces TOWARDS the engine The engine cylinders / spark plug locations are numbered : 1-----2-----3-----4 front of Ford Festiva ( according to my Chilton book / about.com / autozone.com / and Ford forums ) ( I checked a few places because motorcraft.com showed 1 - 4 - 3 - 2 as the firing order and it didn't seem right so I figured it must be a typing error )

Standing in front looking at the distributor, #1 would be at the six o'clock position, from there clockwise would be 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
Standing in front of the vehicle with hood open, looking at the distributor, #1 would be at the 5:00 position on the cap, from there clockwise would be 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2.
Standing in front of the vehicle with the hood open looking at the distributor, #1 is aprox on the 5 O-clock position on the cap, from there clockwise it goes 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Assuming this is a 4.3L engine.
You didn't specify what engine, 4, 6, 8? Anyway in an 8cyl Chevrolet engine, 18436572 jr
Unfortunately no, i have found that more times than not your distributor cap will not be marked with the specific firing order of the vehicle, many however do have one visible mark to identify the number one cylinder
Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 clockwise on cap. CYLINDER #s are Drivers side head front to rear 1-3-5-7 The other head front to rear is 2-4-6-8
Can i get a diagram of the firing order for spark plug wires to distributor cap on a 1989 4by4 4.3 Chevy truck distributor cap?
Clockwise, 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Looking from the front, #1 would be located at the 5:30 position on the distributor cap. Cylinders 1, 3 and 5 are front to back on the drivers side of engine, cylinders 2,4 and 6 are front to back on the passengers side.
At spark plug location number 1. Number 1 plug is on the drivers side front of engine.
Impossible to answer without know what make, model, year, and engine size you are asking about. None of which you list.
All distributors are different, you will need to find the firingorder, and sequence for your particular engine and model of vehicleby consulting a service manual. Once you have that order you willknow the location of the number one cylinder, and the correspondingwire location on the distributor cap, each plug wire will have adesignated port on the cap, they will need to match the specs inorder to work properly.
