Is the instrument cluster from a 92-94 Chevy Silverado interchangable with one from an 89 Chevy Silverado would the gauges and tachometer work or would additional wiring need to be done?
No its not. 89-91 have a different plug than 92-94 some 91's have the newer needle style gauges with the tach and the older style plug but this cluster is rare.
Answer . \nFirst off, which fuse?\n. \nThey are located under the hood on the drivers side in a protective plastic case and on the left side of dash as you open the door?
2003-2006 GM Truck Cluster Removal 1. Apply the parking brake toprevent the vehicle from moving. 2. If equipped with an automatictransmission, move the shift lever all the way down to last gear(this will allow you room to remove the bezel). 3. Tilt thesteering wheel to the full down position. You do… not need to removethe steering wheel as seen in the image - "Picture 1" below. 4.Pull gently rearward on the corners of the bezel from theinstrument panel (IP) assembly. There are no screws holding inplace. 5. Remove the bezel. 6. Remove the (7mm hex head) screwsthat retain the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to the I/P assembly.7. Remove the IPC (2) from the vehicle by tilting the bottom of thecluster outward. 8. Disconnect the IPC harness (1) from the IPC bysqueezing in it's clamp tab and pulling moderately. (MORE)
it should say in your manual, otherwise look on the inside of the fuse panel cover (its located on the side of the dash that's covered when the drivers door is closed). sometimes there is a listing in there.
A fuse diagram for a Chevy K1500 Silverado can be found in aChilton's Automotive Repair Manual. Chilton makes repair manualsfor many different vehicles.
Answer . There are about 5 fuses for the trailer harness, Trailer Back up,Trailer left turn, Trailer right turn, Trailer Brake, and Trailer hazards. They are located in the underhood fuse box on the Drivers side of your motor.. On my 2003 Silverado, the Trailer left/stop and Trailer right/stop f…uses are located in the fuse panel just inside the driver's side door. (Not sure about the trailer brake or hazard fuses.....I wasn't having problems with those :).. There is one additional fuse for the trailer harness. The 15A fuse for the trailer running lights is located in the fuse panel under the hood, next to the battery. The fuse is labeled "Trailer Park". (MORE)
Look on the backside of the fuse cover case. if the diagram is not there i suggest calling a Chevy dealer. goodluck
The fuse box is located to the bottom lrft of the steering wheel behind the coin holder. all you do is open it up and the pull it towards you of the rear hinges.. It will snap right back into place.
Answer . You should have a separate fuse box under dash just left of stearing colum. It has fuses and circuit breakers in it. I have a 2003 silverado and it took along time to find the second fuse box.
Did you buy the extented warranty? If you did then either find your paper work for it or call the dealership to help you. The electricl is usually only cover for the first 3 yr/ 36000 miles. Usually.
This fuse is located in the under hood compartment. Look from the driver's side and it'll be on the right side of the power center. This is a 15a mini fuse
Should be located in the under hood fuse box. The 15 amp blue fuse is marked "radio".
there is one on side of dash as soon as you open driver door with a pull cover to acess there is also one under the hood on the drivers side about the middle of fender.
Parking/tailight fuse Actually the shift indicator is powered by ign 0 in side fuse panel and the tach and speedo are powered by ign 1 fuse!
should be under the hood behind a plastic guard with three bolts, right under the passenger side dashboard, the plastic guard actuallhas the names of the components undernieth it, it should saysomething like, fuel pump relay/ fuel pump fuse/ ground
one is under the dash one the drivers side... second one is on top of the drivers side inner fender.
In most 1962 Chevys, the instrument cluster is screwed in from thefront. After removing the screws wiggle gently and look to see ifany wires or the speedometer cable needs to be unhooked.
I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe that the speedo and tach went haywire on last week. I did some research and found the info in the on-line article below. However, when I took my truck to the dealer I was told that 2005 Chevrolet models were not included and I would need to pay close to $600 to replace the …instrument cluster. I am not sure why GM would not include 2005 models in the replacement coverage becasue the underlying problem is related to the same stepper motor that is also used in the 2003 and 2004 models which are included inthe replacement coverage. The stepper motor is manuafactered by Switec Inc., a subsidary of the SWATCH cooporation. The same stepper motor is used for all the analog guages on the instrument cluster. (The Tahoe panel uses motor model # X25.168) Motor specs can be found here: http://www.microcomponents.ch/products/switec/switec.html So the short answer is NO, GM has not (yet) recalled 2005 models for the instrument panel issue, but in my opinion they should. I am going to keep hounding the company about replacing mine. J.M. - Memphis, TN Update 9/23/2009 Send it to gmgaugerepair.com - THEY DO REBUILDS for 110.00!!!!!!!!!!!! My 2005 Chevy 1500HD has a problem, the dealer told me that they have extended the "good will" agreement to 2005 models. After driving an hour to get to the dealer they checked the VIN on my truck and it does not apply to me. I guess it is only 2005 models assembled before January 1 st , 2005. Like the other guy said, you want me to believe my parts are different in my truck because it was built on January 18 th , 2005? P.R. Gilroy, CA ---------------------------------- ARTICLE: Monday, September 10, 2007 Delphi settles GM parts issue Company pays $100M to mend warranty issues and agrees to replace 1.1M electronic parts. David Shepardson / Detroit News Washington Bureau WASHINGTON -- Delphi Corp. will pay General Motors Corp. at least $100 million to settle long-standing disputes over warranty issues and also will replace 1.1 million electronics parts -- worth more than $80 million -- at no charge as part of a wide-ranging agreement between the companies. The settlement, reached Aug. 14 and made public late Thursday, opens a window into the costs GM has incurred in dozens of recall campaigns as a result of parts supplied by its former parts unit. GM has blamed dozens of warranty claims on shoddy Delphi parts, especially electronics. The companies won U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval to release only an edited copy of the agreement. The agreement resolves all outstanding issues between the companies and sets the stage for Delphi to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy by the end of the year. Troy-based Delphi has filed a final reorganization plan. Since GM spun off Delphi in 1999, the automaker has had many disputes with the company over warranty claims. GM spokeswoman Renee Rashid-Merem said Friday that the agreement "clears the slate" between Delphi and GM "and resolves a certain group of outstanding warranty issues." She said the agreement covers as many as 50 warranty issues; the settlement refers to at least 43 warranties. The major issue resolved involves 1.1 million electronic parts that are part of instrument clusters, according to a heavily edited version of the agreement that has been made public. The instrument cluster is the electronic brain behind the instrument panel on the dash. With the agreement and an improving relationship with Delphi, GM hopes to save $2 billion annually in parts costs. As Delphi exits several businesses, GM will represent a diminishing share of its revenue -- down to a quarter or less than $5 billion by 2010. Delphi attorney Jack Butler said the agreement saves Delphi "hundreds of millions of dollars in potential liability." Defective parts replaced Under the deal, GM will receive $47.5 million to replace defective electronic parts and Delphi will provide 1.1 million new parts at no charge through 2014. In addition, GM will have a right to buy additional parts at no more than $83 each. For instrument clusters equipped with Switec stepper motors, Delphi also will provide bulbs and motors at its cost. In another issue, Delphi will pay GM $175 per repair for up to 107,000 vehicles -- or as much as $18 million. GM would not divulge what part is involved. Delphi also may sue a supplier over one of the defective parts. If successful, the company has agreed to give GM part of any proceeds exceeding $8 million. During the dispute, GM withheld $5.4 million in parts payments from Delphi. Delphi won't seek the payment. Meanwhile, two GM investigations into other allegedly defective parts by Delphi remain ongoing, "and GM has not yet determined if Delphi has any responsibility," according to the agreement. . There are two, possibly three fuse boxes in your truck. The one you want is under the hood on the driver side. The cigerette lighter fuse is just above and slightly to the right of the radio fuse.. I'm thinking that it might be under the hood on the drivers side. I asume that you have scoured the dash and cab insides for it. The other weird location might be behind the seat. The fuse that controls your Instrument cluster on a 2000 silverado is going to be linked with your radio fuse. Look in the fuse box under the hood, (upper right hand side, driver side) and look for a fuse labeled radio. It should be a 10 amp. If it is good, then cluster and radio fuse is good.
ABS fuse is under hood in box on drivers side. under cover will say wich one.
Protects the wireing in case of a short, the fuse will blow insted of the wires melting.
We just rebuilt the motor on a 5.7 silverado, 1997 model, we are getting several trouble codes, I think the problem has to do with my son taking off the mufflers, what do you think. We clear all the codes and new one keep coming up. The first code was crank sensor. The second was cam position senso…r. The third was oxygen sensor bank two efficiency too high. I think it has to do with no back pressure, HELP. (MORE)
Look at the fuse box at the drivers side end of the dash. On the bottom right side there are two 15 amp fuses marked TBC 2C and TBC 2B. Check these. (it is probably the bottom one.)
Like all the modern GM products (mine included) the (miniature)dash lights used are now soldered directly to a circuit board in the rear of the cluster. These lights are not meant to be replaced by the average Joe (but they can be) If you have access to a specialty electronics shop such as B&E elect…ronics you can obtain the bulbs you need. However you will also require a electric pencil type soldering gun a solder sucker (a syringe type of thing that sucks up melted solder), and some patience Here's what you do: Remove the cluster from the vehicle, carefully and keeping all parts in order disassemble the cluster, once you have taken the cluster apart and gotten down to the printed circuit board, you will see small bulbs soldered directly to the circuit board, those are the cluster lights and where the unsoldering of the old bulbs and replacement with new bulbs will be done. If all this seems like too much work the other options are: Replacing the cluster with a re-manufactured unit (costly and involves reprogramming the cluster and possibly the anti-theft system as well) but a lot less work, or removing the cluster and taking it to a electronics repair shop to have the bulbs replaced by them. (My recommendation since the repair shop technicians will have the necessary tools and access to the bulbs and...everything else that goes along with a complicated job like this, also this method will have the added advantage of not having to reprogram anything, since you will be reinstalling your original instrument cluster.. Hope this makes light of a complicated task that shouldn't be....Chris. (MORE)
Stepper motor failure causes the gauges to be erratic or sticking. Total power loss to the cluster can be caused by the bad solder joints on the board or the cluster power supply needing to be updated. There is also a fuse under the hood labeled IPC. Try gmgaugerepair.com also
It does not have a fuse, the speed sensor works the speed-o-meter \ \ I disagree, because the Radio fuse , in the fuse box under the hood will work the speedometer, Tach, and Message center
Ther is a relay under the hood that controls the fuel pump on th passenger side of the engine compartment above the ac condeser
The fuse is mounted in the fuse box in the right hand side of the engine bay. you will have to unclip the lid of the fuse box and the instrument cluster fuse is no.3
I need a fuse and relay pannel diagram for my Chev. Silverado, 2007, 5.3 V-8 flexfuel LT package
It is located in the main fuse box under the hood driver side labeled CIG LTR.
It really depends on how much you drive it and whether you have the half or three-quarter ton. I usually spend about 100 dollars here in Utah but i drive pretty much everyday... Hope that helps
,. .its under the hood under a cover. Its in a group of fuses, look under the cover & you will see their designations. . . it will be a 10 or 15 amp fuse. . & yes it is for both clock & radio. . if your radio works & the clock is still out, you will need a new radio. . .Good Luck. .
your dash lights and gauges are soldered in and are not supposed to be replaced. The right way would be to order it from the dealer. But if you know how to solder and have some knowledge of electronics then check out this site . copy and paste this to your address bar. good luck http://www.diesel…place.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140580&highlight=dash+cluster+fix Your dash lights can be just 1 of 4 problems with your cluster. Gauge failure, dim PRNDL, total power loss are most common. if you are gonna fix one problem it should be rebuilt. Try gmgaugerepair.com they do all repairs mentioned for $110.00 ! (MORE)
There are two fuse boxes in an 02 Silverado. For the interior systems, the box is facing the driver door to the left of the instrument panel. The exterior fuse panel is behind the battery.
First, pull the steering wheel off and remove the lower cover fromunder the cluster and remove the lower cover bracket. If it is anautomatic, disconnect the shift indicator wire by unhooking it fromthe right side of the steering column. Reach behind the cluster andunscrew the speedometer cable from …the speedo. You should also beable to pull out all the wire connectors from the gauges and thelight bulb sockets from the back of the cluster, or you could do itlater when you are able to pull the cluster out enough to reachbehind it. Then you have 2 choices: 1)You can unscrew the 3 screws in the turnsignal housing and pull the turn signal housing up. This revealsthe locking ring the screws were screwed to. So rotate and releasethe locking ring from the notches in the top of the column tube.Remove the shifter lever and pull the shifter housing up so that itclears the cluster housing. Watch your turn signal and horn wires, since you may have to loosen them to have some slack when you pullup on the turn signal housing. Or 2) You could loosen the clamp on the firewall from the steeringcolumn, and the clamp that holds the column to the bottom of thedash and slide the entire column up enough to clear the bottom ofthe cluster housing. Then remove the 4 screws holding the cluster housing to the dash, 2on top and 2 under each side. There should be 2 nuts to remove frombehind the cluster on the bottom. They would be on the 2 longthreaded studs that are visible when looking up underneath thecluster. Pull the cluster away from the dash tilting the top towards you.Pull it out enough to reach behind it, if you didn't pull all thewire plugs and sockets from the back of the cluster before, you cando that now. Otherwise lift the cluster out of the dash. (MORE)
There are two,one is on the drivers side front wheel well and the other is on the left of the dash. Open the door and you will see the access door to the fuse box on the left end of the dash at the bottom.
