\n. \n Answer \n. \n. \nI replaced the starter on my 96' Avenger. It is located right beside the oil filter. To remove the starter I had to take off the oil filter and the part connecting the oil filter to the car.
Answer . If you follow the bottom hose on your radiator it will lead you to it. You will have to remove 3 bolts on the thermostat housing to get to it but it should only take you about 20 minutes to change it out.
Answer . \nWell if it helps, I have a 1996 2.0L 16 Valve 4 cylinder engine. If you jack the car up in front, and get under it, you should see the oil pan almost directly under the engine, but slightly towards the passenger side. When the pan is located, you should see a screw towards the back a…nd bottom of the pan. Loosen the screw, but have a pan to catch the oil ready. Once the oil starts to run out, keep unscrewing until the screw is all the way removed. Give it a few minutes to drain, then unscrew the oil filter, if you are changing it, and dump it's contents into the dirty oil and then put it in the box of the new one and dispose of it. When the oil is all drained and down to about a drip, wipe off the oil pan's screw and replace it into the back of the oil pan. Then, apply a slight amount of new oil around the rubber gasket of the new oil filter, and install it, appling about 10 to 15 pounds of pressure to it after it is snug. Once the screw is reinstalled and the new filter is in place, you can comense adding the new oil into the engine. Mine takes about 4 quarts, but amount may vary depending on the engine size and the amount of time alloted to the pan to drain. Once you are all done, check the dip stick to ensure you have added the proper amount of oil and watch under the car for a few days to make sure there are no leaks. Hope this helps and if you know of an easy way to change the headlight bulbs, that would be much appricated.\n. \ndaman155 (MORE)
Answer . \nI have a 96 2.0L 16 valve 4 cylinder, so this may be different on your car. The first thing you want to identify is which of the two O2 sensors need replacing. The good ting on mine was that both were the same model so I could buy one and not have to worry which was bad. I new it wa…s my pre-cat. sensor and located it towards the passenger side right below one of the tubes going into my radiator. It will look quite small in diameter compared to the new one, if you get the Bosch model at least, and looks like a wire going into the end of a device about the diameter of a pencil that then goes into the exhaust pipe right before it makes a 90 degree turn towards the rear. Its tip is quite larger than the body of it and it will be sticking out of the pipe on the passenger side. If you are looking for the post-cat. sensor, it is located a little more than half the distance to the rear of the car and is also in the exhaust pipe. I hope this is helpful. If further assistance is needed, just ask.\n. \ndaman155 (MORE)

Why does my 1997 dodge avenger stall every time break is allied and idles real rough engine light comes on?
Vacuum Leak . You have a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum lines and replace as necessary. Due to the fact that the car stalls when the brakes are applied, this may indicate a busted diaphragm in the brake booster. Replace all vacuum lines that are suspect, and take a close look at the large vacuum l…ine going to the brake booster. If after replacing all defective vacuum lines the problem persists, look closely at the booster. A vacuum gauge will verify if it is indeed defective. Be sure and replace all vacuum lines one at a time to avoid getting confused. One other possibility is a bad intake manifold gasket. Good luck. (MORE)

Most timing belts from manufacturers should last 100k miles but recommend you change it at around 70k miles, most timing covers have an access panel where you can see the timing belt if you see any cracks and or is extremely dry or wet by oil or any engine fluids you should change it as soon as poss…ible, before it breaks and it will cost you a lot more money to fix. I've seen some turn signal dash indicators that stay on without flashing just when a bulb is burnt out. If the signal itself is flashing, and especially if the turn signal arm doesn't automatically retract when you turn, there may be a broken spring in the canceling cam inside the steering column.

if it is the same body as the 2008, remove the front portion of the drivers side front inner fender.
I did this last week on my 99 avenger. What you want to do is remove the air intake and the battery, they get in the way and make it hard to remove the covering. Next remove 4 bolts from the place where the thermostat is. mine was directly on the right of the engine. Take out the screws and remove t…he old thermostat. Insert new one and put everything back where you got it. (MORE)
The crankshaft is in the lower part of the block. The connecting rods, flywheel, and crank pulley all bolt to it.
check under the fenders, i know it sounds strange but people, have been known to cause a lot of damage by improperly connecting booster cables to their vehicles, so many companies hide the batteries. dodge, generally hides them under the front wheel well inner line (inner fender), turn the wheels al…l the way one way or the other and look under the exposed side, u should see a square of plastic with one or two screw type latches securing it, turn these and u should gain access to the battery. That simply depends on your definition of a sports car. It's got the styling of a sports car, and enough power to be considered one, as well. What it doesn't have is awfully cramped back seat space, and a really tight ride.. I've got one, and I drive it like a sports car, so I say yes.
Your 2.5 liter V6 engine has a timing BELT ( also , it is an interference engine )
the automatic transmissions are hit or miss. most of them have problems eventually. The door Handles are known to brake.

beneath the radiator cap. the upper radiator hose goes to the housing with the radiator cap on it. take off that housing and the thermostat is there.
If you spend enough money at it, you can turbo pretty much any combustion engine. But in terms of economy, it's often more sensible to buy a car with the engine set-up that you want already in it.
its beside the battery has 2 connectors that plug in to it the smaller one is the trans computer
With fabrication work, alot of time & planning anything is possible. The question is are you going to convert it to RWD? That would involve alot of work, measuring, planning, cutting, welding.
In the cooling system it transfers heat out through the radiator. If mixed with the gasoline, it can cause rough running or no start. If pulled in through the air filter it can cause a catastrophicfailure.

I would recommend looking in your users manual under where it lists the services. It should say at such miles you should change the oil filter, oil, and timing belt.
